MAY'S PASTOR'S PEN By Rev. Pam
"Something extraordinary is about to happen on this planet. Humanity is about to create a new form of Spirituality. This new Spirituality will allow humans to express their natural impulse toward the Divine without making one another wrong for the way which they are doing it." Neale Donald Walsch
Dear Ones,
This month's newsletter is the culmination of great prayer treatment, deep thought, renunciation, making room for the new, from that place of Love that resides in the deepest, most Reverent, Spiritual part of all us.
Ruth Fulton's and Betty Lou Myer's presence have been greatly missed recently. As founding members of the church, their service, their love, their friendship, their laughter has helped create the wonderful loving family and energetic unity felt when you walk into our sanctuary.
Divinely creatively expressed behind and in front of the scenes, their energy in our Sunday morning experience, the women's group, book store and kitchen has been lovingly experienced not only through their baked goods and incredible organizational skills, but in their joyous sharing, singing and laughter.
And behind every good woman, there's usually a good man. The men behind Ruth and Betty Lou are their husbands, Walter Myer and John Fulton, who also have also supported PVCRS since its beginning. Their recent decisions to resign from the Pleasant Valley Church board have created a "heaven quake" in our family. John has also resigned from the church. As founding members of the Church, their presence, unconditional love and service can be seen and felt everywhere in our sacred space. Everywhere you look, John's artwork/fine woodwork and craftsmanship bless our walls. Although sometimes not as visible, Walter's artwork and craftsmanship are also omnipresent. Wherever you see shelves, special carpentry, cabinetry and design showcases, Walter's hand was part of the creative design and guiding force bringing it into fruition.
John's, Ruth's, Walter's and Betty Lou's leadership skills have brought life to most of our major events, from our special church programs, to our Christmas Parade Float, to the glue, that from time to time, held the church together in times of transition.
Walter has also tirelessly served as our newsletter editor and leader of the ongoing "Conversations with God" group, that has met for over eight years at PVCRS.
The countless hours throughout the years all four of these incredible visionaries spent creating wonderful church experiences through food, fun, fellowship, by perfecting our sound system, maintaining our facility (including "Flush" our PVCRS toilet...that for many years was the focus and highlight of our board meetings…how I long for those days!) will always be remembered with great love and gratitude.
Letting go and letting God has always been one of my great challenges. And I know I'm not alone. Fear of loss, especially of those we love and who have lovingly shown up as our, friends, family, wisdom teachers and support systems, sometimes weighs heavily on our hearts. But when we invite the place within us where Divinity dwells to take over, the highest vibration which is God's love brings the presence of light into all situations and only love can exist.
These families are woven into our hearts throughout eternity. Time, space and circumstances will never diminish the loving imprint left on our souls by their presence. I learned long ago that LOVE IS! Circumstances may change, but true love never diminishes the essence of the soul's heart connection.
God is in every person, place and experience in this sacred journey. I know that as we continue on our path in the ongoing unfoldment and enfoldment of the Glorious Spiritual Beings we came here to be, that all the Divine Moments shared and Divine Appointments made along the way, will be with us throughout eternity.
The great Indian mystic poet Rabindranath Tagore wrote, "I have spent my days stringing and unstringing my instrument while the song I came to sing remains unsung." The Fultons and the Myers are singing their Divine Song. Once again they are the leaders. The greatest gift we can give to them, to ourselves, our church and to the world, is the gift of moving from rehearsal to singing our own powerful unique songs. We are all limitless possibility. Let us "sing" together harmoniously, affirming, "I Am open and receptive to God's great good pouring forth in my life in even greater new ways!" AND SO IT IS! AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS!
With love and gratitude for the blessings that each and everyone of you so selflessly share,
Rev. Pam
And so it is.
