‘There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved.’

George Sand

Happy Valentine’s Day February 14th! Traditionally, the month of

February is the month we honor our relationships of the heart.   But,

of course, the heart does not generate love. Love is the action of

Divine Law, an energy force that flows through us, which begins in

Infinite Creative Source and never ends.

Since God is Love then we are Love expressing in and through and as our

loving hearts. And so the most important relationship I have is my

relationship with God.

People spend years trying to find the right and perfect love. But love

is not something we find.  God’s love is already in us.  We’ve had it

all the time.  It’s not about finding the right and perfect person.

It’s about becoming the right and perfect person.  When we love someone

else it is the love within us that salutes and celebrates the beloved

in others.

Patrick and I have discovered that the path of spiritual awakening and

the path of relationship are one in the same.

The first phase, the honeymoon phase, is where we see the ‘heavenly

glimpse’ in another. It is recognizing the light of God with in the

heart of our beloved.

The second phase of a spiritual relationship awakening, is the

process that moves us from newness over the challenges and obstacles

that may stand in the way of love. Relationship offers us the greatest

opportunity for growth.  (As many of us already know!) On our personal

spiritual path, the mirroring of who we are is reflected to us in

our beloved. In that reflection we can choose  bravely to illuminate

the dark side of our personality that robs us of peace, or walk away.

The third phase of relationship is service.  As our cup overflows with

the gifts of the Spirit, as we spiral upward in our growth; our desire

is to give back to the world the love and help we’ve received. And,

of course, all of the above stages are continuously happening at the

same time, spiraling upward creating more joy and more love in our

lives with each new revolution.

Unconditionally being in love and loving one another, is the inner

service we give to the world.  But "doing love" is how we become

fulfilled in the highest way.  Doing love is the reaching out to others

from an unconditional place of love, always remembering that it’s not

what we do, but how we do it.

Love is the most powerful force for good that resonates deep within

us.  Love comes from the part of us that is eternal God. And as we

have made our Divine Appointments with those we love in our humanness,

know that ‘what God has joined together, no man can put asunder.’

One of my favorite ‘chic flicks’ is Ghost, because the closing scene

poignantly portrays the idea, power, and passion of eternal love.  As

the thin veil of death that has separated Sam, Molly’s dead lover, from

Molly throughout the film is lifted, Molly finally senses and feels

Sam’s loving presence. The message Sam leaves Molly, and all of us,

with is one that touches me deeply.  ‘Molly, the love inside,  you get

to take it with you!’

Wishing you an eternity of loving and being loved!
