RELATIONSHIP AND THE SPIRITUAL PATH

‘My whole being responds to Thy love and I am complete in Thee.  I

shall live with Thee eternally.  O lover of my Soul and Keeper of my

Spirit, none can separate us, for we are one.  Thy Love keep me and Thy

life envelop me now and forever more.  I rest in Thee.’

           Ernest Holmes, 1926

Many of us will share our thoughts of love for one another on

Valentine’s Day, but what about the rest of the year?  And what about

those special moments that have changed our lives forever?

There are so many stories and books about people who are meant to be

together on their journey through life.  Stories that affirm that God’s

Divine Plan for us is so much greater than many times we can imagine.

Stories about people who first met when they were children and then for

various reasons were separated.  Years later, by the Grace of God, as

if they made a silent Divine appointment to reconnect, they cross paths

again….many times for a greater good.

Betty Lou and Walter Myer are one of those couples.  I’ve asked them to

share their incredible story with our Church family in this newsletter.

I believe I made one of those Divine appointments when I was twenty-six

years old. I was newly divorced, lonely and fearful.  During a

meditation I had a vision of a young, tall, handsome, blond man who had

the kindest eyes walking by my side. In that flash of intuitive

knowing, I felt at peace.  It was as if God was reassuring me that when

the time was right, someone would come into my life that I would be in

relationship with in a deeper, more meaningful way.

Three years later, I met that man. It was Patrick.  Although I didn’t

recognize him at first, both he and I recognized in each other

something that was greater than we had ever experienced before. Spirit,

changeless, eternal. After that initial meeting we were so moved by

what we experienced we both went home and cried. I believe God gave us

this moment to remember and hold onto. We did not marry at that time.

Into every relationship a little rain must fall, but that moment of

Spiritual remembrance of who we are was the Spiritual foundation on

which Patrick and I eventually built our lives together.

Since that first meeting our relationship has grown enormously as the

deeper connection to our Spiritual Selves as evolved.  As co-pastors of

this wonderful community, our Spiritual lives have expanded enormously.

We have shifted to not only facing each other but to also facing a

greater mutual vision, a higher purpose and the world in a new way.

This new vision is inclusive of our previous knowing that we were meant

to be here together, to love, to serve and to remember.

From this place of unity with God and one another, our deepest vision

is to share that love as an act of service to PVCRS and the world. I

believe love for one another and love as an act of service working

toward a vision for a higher purpose, expressing God at its highest

creates ‘the stuff dreams are made of!’

So in this season of Love, I invite you to open your hearts, your minds,

to experience the Love of God in and through and as you. May you

continue to experience greater wisdom, joy, wholeness and love on your

spiritual journey.

Patrick and I, as always, ‘hold the high watch’ in knowing that the

abundance of all God’s blessings continue to unfold in your Spirit,

heart, and body. That you are filled with God’s love, peace,

prosperity and health in a greater way than ever before.

I close with a prayer treatment by Ernest Holmes written in 1926:

I Am Complete in Thee

Almighty God, Everlasting Good, Eternal Spirit, Maker of all things

Keeper of my Life, Thou art All.

Infinite Presence within, in Whom all live, Joy Supreme, flooding all

With gladness, I adore Thee.

Eternal Peace, Undisturbed and quiet, I feel Thy calm.

As deep cries unto deep, so my thought cries unto Thee and Thou

Dost answer.

I Am renewed and refreshed, my whole being responds in Thy love and I

am complete in Thee.

O Lover of my Soul and Keeper of my Spirit, none can separate us, for

we are One.

Thy presence dwell within me, Thy Love keep me and Thy life envelop me

now and forevermore.

AND SO IT IS!

Love, eternal soul remembrance and blessings,

Rev. Pam
