You Are The One

Sometimes I feel that my relationship with the principles of Science of Mind
has lost its dynamic quality, that my journey in consciousness has stopped
short of its ultimate destination, and that I have fallen prey to spiritual
boredom. I know that this is usually when Spirit delivers me the from the throes of
apathy with a swift kick in the seat of the pants. There is a line delivered
by Robert Duvall as Mac Sledge in the movie "Tender Mercies" that describes
the way I sometimes feel about lack of conflict that sometimes masquerades as
peace: "I don't trust happiness, I never have."

I feel the same way about drifting in the calm seas of spiritual stagnation.
My own life's journey, from one level of understanding to the next, has been
fueled more often by the energy of Divine discontent than by the power of inner
peace. Perhaps inner calm feels too much like complacency, or maybe I'm just
easily bored, but I both dread and welcome the earthshaking deliverance that
follows every period of peace I have ever known. I grow restless and agitated
with too much harmony. I expect the ratcheting clank of the rising roller
coaster of life to herald the beginning of another exciting journey.

This week I received an unsolicited book in the mail from Walter Starcke, the
New-Thought author, entitled "The Third Appearance, a Crisis of Perception".
This book  describes a radical approach to unitary consciousness that cuts
through the usual jungle of spiritual cliché to deliver a simple, penetrating and
potentially earth shaking insight that is the logical conclusion of New
Thought: There is only One, and You Are It! All notions of dualism or separation
are jettisoned, as Mr. Starcke first presents his arguments and then provides
the application for this profound and simple principle. I urge you to study "The
Third Appearance, a crisis of perception" and to let the message sink in.

The difference between "crisis" and "disaster" is subtle and often
overlooked. In the medical model, in crisis we marshal our energies and either get
better or we die. In the aftermath of disaster, we merely pick up the pieces.
Ernest Holmes said that the world has learned all that it needs to through pain and
suffering. This message offers a method, means and opportunity to take a
giant step forward in consciousness...

Simply by knowing that

You Are The One!
