A Quick Look at Jan Guzman
Jan Guzman has been a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Religious Science for 10 years, a Board of Trustees member for 7 years, and a Practitioner for 6 years. She is presently the Vice President of the PVCRS Board of Trustees. Always a very active member, she started Conversations with God and the Newsletter four years ago. She is very grateful that Walt Myer has taken over both of these functions. Jan likes to start things and then delegate them to someone else! She started the Women’s Group last year, which is now led by Corine Barksdale, assisted by Dorene Tsukida. In 2002 Jan organized a very successful Auction, which netted more than enough money to purchase the chairs that we had been wanting for so very long. The 2003 Auction was even more successful! She also organized a Casino Night, Progressive Dinner and two Christmas parties for PVCRS, which were all well attended and a lot of fun. Jan continues to attend SOM classes and to teach workshops at PVCRS. She says that in the classes is where you really get to know each other. Jan and Bill Guzman celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary in September 2003. Between the two of them, they have three sons, Phil, Jason and Jared and five grandchildren. They like to travel and attend car races in which Bill participates and Jan helps with the computerized scoring. They are also very involved with Bill’s business, Classic Conversions, which you can learn more about at www.classicconversionseng.com. Jan built and maintains the website plus doing all of the accounting and documentation for the business. In her spare time, Jan plays golf, competition Bridge, ushers at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, tutors, attends Toastmasters, is President of the Northrop Grumman Retiree Club, plays with the grandchildren and reads. She is now retired from 16 years as a math teacher and 22 years at Northrop Grumman as a software systems engineer and administration manager.
Jan Guzman has been a Licensed RSI Practitioner for 6 years, and continues to attend SOM classes and Practitioner seminars regularly. She often teaches workshops at PVCRS, where she has been a member for ten years.
Oh, yes, and she also does Spiritual Mind Treatments, meditates and exercises! And some day she will publish her book, Mystic
